58 year old female Rt leg LE following abdominal hysterectomy
Authored by "Judy"

I am a 58 year old female who developed lymphedema of my right leg following total abdominal hysterectomy and removal of pelvic lymph nodes in Jan 2000.

I am currently wearing a medium compression stocking during the day and this keeps the edema pretty much in check, however, my ankle is continually swollen. I have no pain or discoloration and exercise improves the condition, as well as elevating my leg as much as possible. I take a diuretic 1-2 times a week and this also helps.
